It is obvious Bush is trying to resurrect the cold war. That poor dumb man has caused so much death and destruction and yet he still isn't satisfied. He ego needs feeding daily. God help us live through the next 1 1/2 years.

Our freedoms are not being taken away by our government. They are being given to the cheapest foreign labor markets through special interest groups we call American companies through NAFTA/CAFTA and Free Trade. Whom I might add have the purchasing parity to donate to our political parties.

Edit: I have to agree with warmspirited's answer. It is the idea of our Constitution that has any people at odds with us. Even wanting to risk legal action to come here. Yet I have seen things here where it appears that the most important part of our Constitution is overlooked and seems more so over the past few years. I feel the the most important part of the Constitution is the Preamble. Because it simply instructs us in how to approach the body of the document. Nowhere in the Preamble does it give one group of people more understanding of the document than any other of people.
I have heard where even good Christian folks even in law enforcement have said that nowhere in the Constitution that it mentions God. As I said to the Police Chief of a small town up here. Before the Constitution was signed and ratified the words, "in the year of our Lord" appear and that put the document in a righteous time line. Just because it is no longer practiced to use those words on public documents does not take away the existence of a righteous or religious time line.

confident, think of approximately each and every of the similarities. One is that for the duration of WW II Japan had Kamikazes. Now there are Martyrs. After the Kamikazes started ramming their planes into ships the U. S. introduced the 1st Nuclear bomb. i've got self assurance after analyzing a internet site that the comparable element will happen in purely some days. September 12, 2006 take a seem on the positioning. you will the two giggle as you answer NO on their ballot or you would be like me and push confident. and commence making waiting.

Well considering the Missile Shield wasn't made with the Russians in mind.

And the new Russian Missile, wasn't developed to counter the Missile Shield.

It has been in development before the US stated working on the Missile Shield.

I'd say, no, there is no new Cold War.

Just what freedoms did we not have in the first Cold War that they would want to take away again with a second Cold War ?

I don't remember gaining any new freedoms after the first Cold War ended,

Do you ???

Trying to stage another cold war?

The cold war was one of serious consequence - one of assured devastation, unsure of the other's intent.

The government of the United States is by document - our "Constitution" which is the sole and stable power outlining public participation in electing those who shall abide ONLY to that document.

In a perfect world of perfect human governors, the design would be what we call a "Republic of Democracy".

It is unfortunate that some may think they are empowered other than that original "Constitution", or by directives of our individual states. The American system has been strong (though sometimes extremely slow), but unusually successful in generating stability in populace governing.

It models civil needs and protections, and arranges smaller self-governing bodies as those determined as communities within.

COMMUNISM IS FAR DIFFERENT. A SMALL HANDFULL OF UNELECTED ELITE BEAT THE POPULACE INTO SERVING ONLY THEM. THEY TEACH ONLY SUBMISSION AND MURDER THIER RIVALS WITH INTENT TO CONTROL THE POPULACE.

Major inroads have been made to allow formerly communist control to proper in self-governing societies, but the goverment of Russia has been frequently unstable (at best), and Vladimir Putin has made great effort toward the return of communism.

Vlad had closed all newspapers contrary to his view, he has arranged for the murder of political rivals, he has funded chemical weapons to terrorists and nuclear proliferation.

Vlad has violated treaties of friendship. He has violated his own people. He uses his neighbors to stop the stability Americans have, and weaken his own offered protections.

Many people around the world are jealous that the true superpower in our world is not the people of the United States, but the "Constitution of the United States of America" - the embodiment.

The "Constitution" shall endure as one of the world's greatest documents (as did the Magna Carta).

It appears that the current standoff is between Vlad the selfish communist revivalist and American ideal.

I saw what happened to Gorbechov.

A million of Bush's wealthy friends have their fortunes invested in the military industrial complex. War and arms races = huge profits for them. Not satisfied with the half trillion dollars from our present 2 wars and the Israeli/Arab arms race, Bush is trying to reignite the Russian/U.S. arms race. Let's hope a coming Democratic Administration will stop this madness before it starts. It's up to Putin to practice a little short term restraint.

Not really (not that I'd put it past Cheney/Bush). But I think this is just their extreme egos and arrogance at work--and their paranoia.

Also--neither pays any attention to history--or they'd know the Russians are never ina million years going to tolerate missles sitting on their western border. That's about as likey as the US tolerating Russian missles in Cuba. And we all know what the answer to that was.

I really don't think that it will come to anything that serious. What it looks like to me is men power posturing for the sake of it. Putin is attempting to show that he will not be pushed around. Russia isn't the power that it once was, let's face it China is a more dominant world influence these days.

Sure Russia doesn't see eye to eye with America but it's not alone in this, in fact it stands with the majority. I think a change in administration may clear up many of these woes for America, and it will happen soon enough, you have to think positive.

It is all about the big bears beating there chests in public which happens to co inside with the G8 conference. I just wish the Russians would get on with their problems and the Americans theirs and leave the rest of us to do what we do peacefully.
