I think they've left it on auto pilot while one of them swans off, and the other is in hospital. Just go'es to show we can manage quite well without all the piggies in the trough.

No, it is the responsibility of the Civil Service to run the country. The Government is responsible for determining how that should be done, but the minutiae of the day to day running is done by the mandarins, who are meant to be apolitical and impartial. Think of it as a ship. The PM as the captain with the cabinet as his officers. They make the decisions and instruct the crew who actually run the ship. Once the Captain has set a course, he can leave the bridge in the command of a senior rating. Incidentally this is how everything continues during an election.

The people who actually run the country are the Civil Servants.
In government, all that really happens is that the politicians gather round the cabinet table argue the case for this or that strategy on this or that issue and then instruct their Civil Servants who then carry out the task in hand.
When Labour got elected by a landslide victory in 1945, no one had expected this to happen, not even Labour themselves. So inexperienced were the newly elected Labour government they had to seek advice from the Civil Servants as to what to do next.
They sat in the cabinet room for a couple of hours, not knowing what to do. How would they, the poor darlings, they're only politicians.
Let's race forward to some mad future in which my party, The Double Standards and Sleaze Party get elected to power. Okay, who wants to be Minister of Health? I know, John, he was in the Scouts and did first aide.
And so it goes.

The main man is touring the world on his farewell tour, (which we are paying for) the deputy is in hospital and it is quite serious so we'll leave him out of this.
So therefore no one is running the country which is okay, because when people spend our money on stupid logos that cost a fortune, to be honest we have to ask do we want them running our country.
If you had £400.000 and there was problems in the place that you was in charge of, like cancer, housing, crime, hospitals, would you spend £400.000 on a new logo, ummmmm let me try and work this one out.
At the end of the day we have no say as to how many Jaguars they buy, how many miles they fly in their private jets, how much it costs to stay in their luxury hotels, so if they don't care about what they spend our money on then why should we care about them.
I'm sorry to go on I just think that the country should be run more like a business, people should have to explain where money is being spent, not just slice off the top for expenses and then whats left lets share between hospitals and schools etc. Enough is enough and thay have now really really taken the mickey and I can't believe we have to pay for all this. It really is disgusting.
