To know what God is, is to realize that he is the source of all things in the universe. We are products of the universe and therefore are products of god. Because this is so, at our deepest level we are god. When we know this we release what we thought to be ourselves and let god work through us and therefore become gods. Thy will be done.

I think your question should be reversed.
When we truly know ourselves we will know what God is.
Here are some examples.
We are learning cloning and some day will be fully able to clone people.
As we learn this we will learn more and more about ourselves, until the day we come to that we do not need to clone but we can create life.
True this might start out with ugly creatures but if we look at our history there is a parallel there. We can see how what we know as life started out pretty ugly and basic in nature.
As we learn more and more the creatures we create will become more and more beautiful and amazing, until one day we can create a living thinking being much like a human being!
That is only one part, we are also learning greater and greater ways to harness nature and to control nature.
First we learn how to in our own countries then the world as we all work together, then our solar system. From there our galaxy, until one day the universe: and that day when we can produce our own big bang to create another universe we will fully know what God is!
It truly is exciting to think of our potential for achievement! Maybe it might take millions of years to reach that point, true. But now think about the races in the universe that are millions of years older than our race.
So to answer your question when we finely reach that point to our new creation they will see us as Gods, because we made them. They will not realize we made them in our own image, and will not understand that until they them selves evolve just as we had.

You must be mormon...
Mormons believe these things about God: that He has not always been the Supreme Being of the universe, but attained that status through righteous living and persistent effort. They believe God the Father has a “body of flesh and bones as tangible as man’s.” Though abandoned by modern Mormon leaders, Brigham Young taught that Adam actually was God and the father of Jesus Christ.

God is believed to be in the heaven. He is the almighty, the creator of all lives on earth, all the planets, stars, galaxies, and this whole universe. We believe that He has sent each one of us on earth with a purpose.
When we know what God is, we will know what our purpose to live is. When we know that , and work hard to make our purpose a success , we will become God because our purpose is not a mere purpose, it is a great cause that we are working for and once achieved, we will never be forgotten by the ones whom we have helped and will worship us like God.

You mustn't think about that. And as soon as you get questions like these, just try to forget them, and think about something else.
God is our creater so he knows when the right times is to know what he is. But I know that we'll know him in the judgement day.. But a human can't be a god!! for sure!
Cause human can't live forever like a god, also he can't creat another human or a universe! So he doesn't deserve to be a god... but stop thinking about what god really is ... Because you'll keep thinking about that and wasting your time without any use.. good luck!

I know what God is, does that make me a God? Wait. I know that God doesn't exist, therefore I don't exist?! *blip* But since I do then there must be a God, but there isn't. Think on that one.

When we have evolved enough to know what God is, we will have learned how to be gods ourselves.
If you can grasp infinity, you will become infinite.
Whether that will ever happen, hmmm.....
