There are ovulation test kits available from the supermarkets and chemists.
But there are other ways to determine if she is ovulating. Firstly if she ovulates, it is 14 days before the start of her next period, so if she has a regular cycle, you will get an idea of when it might occur.
Then there are the physical signs of ovulation
2-3 days before she ovulates there is a mucus discharge from the vagina, which starts thin, thickens over a few days, then disappears after ovulation.
There is a 1/2 degree centigrade rise in temp. (taken in the vagina, first thing in the morning), at the time of ovulation, pin pointing the day of ovulation.
If you get a book on natural family planning, it should outline these in more detail. There are charts available on the net to plot the results.
Good luck!

There are ovulation tests that you use to test the urine, but they are just an additional (and expensive) piece of the puzzle.
The basics of predicting ovulation are taking and tracking the basal body temperature and testing for mucous.
Basically, starting with the first day of her next period, at the same time every morning, your wife should take her temperature and write it down. When there is a mild rise in temperature, mid-cycle, that is when she is ovulating. After a few months, you can predict when during the cycle ovulation can occur. You should have sex every day, or every other day, starting 3 or 4 days before ovulation until two days after the predicted release. Some sperm swim to meet the egg that is waiting, others wait inside for the egg to come.
Your wife can also look at her vaginal mucous to see when she is fertile. It it is watery, she's not. If it is sticky, clear, and the consistency of egg whites, she is fertile. If it is a little thicker and white-ish the fertile time has passed.
But, your wife's ovulation is only part of the story. The other part is about you taking care of your health to ensure sperm health. To do this you should:
Quit smoking and drinking alochol.
Avoid tight underwear and jeans.
Take an iron supplement.
Eat five servings of fruit and vegetables a day, but wash fruit and veg carefully to avoid pesticides.
If you are a farmer, don't spray your crops with chemicals as they are thought to reduce sperm counts. Men in rural areas actually have lower sperm counts than men in cities because of pesticide exposure.

If youre gonna get some ovulation tests I suggest getting
cheap ones, if you don't want to go broke when your wife
has to take 1 a day for a period of 2 weeks or more every
month..
You can get super cheap tests from Ebay. They may not
have "flashy" boxes or have a brand name, but I imagine
they're pretty much the same thing you'd get in a standard
ovulation test, except without the fancy packaging
And theyre VERY VERY inexpensive. Your wife will be able
to take like 2 a day if she wanted

Also, here's another site that's similar, but you can get
different types of ovulation tests. Theyre also very cheap

yes, there is a ovulating test you could take. You can go to any drug store and purchase one. They are made by clearblue, and they give you the two best dates that you are ovulating. They cost around the same price as a pregnancy test, i think maybe a few dollars more. hope this helps, and good luck on the baby making!
