When I went to Rolling Thunder in Washington DC I bought some patches at Thunder Alley. The vendors spray a light adhesive on the back of the patch place it on the vests and then sew it in place along the edges of the patch. They have a heavy duty (old) machine. Most any alteration shop can do this for you.

Expect $5 to $8 per patch depending on size. May be higher in some locations.

The best way is to have a tailor / embroidery shop do it for you !!

I had to apply many of my own patches to my US Navy flight-jacket in the old days... a thimble, needle, and thread. It would take an hour or more to do it well. Then later, the Parachute Riggers (PR's) were allowed to do it again with their fine machines.

Whip-stitch and a great bit of care with the leather and the fingers!!

Good luck
