I have not idea of the rules in other countries, but in the UK your Boss would not be allowed to do that. You would have to be moved to another position.
Again over here, you would be able to go to an industrial tribunal.
Good luck.

Depending what machine really.
You might want to call a lawyer to ask for advice on how to do this.
get a written reason of why you were laid off and why they didnt do it when they first found out you were pregnant. The first months are important to fetal development and being almost 6 months there really isd no real reason to lay you off cause of the machines.
You can go after a lawsuit if you want, i would. You were fired for a stupid reason.so you should call a lawyer for some advice about it.
Was there anything mentioned when hired or on the job application or contract about getting pregnant or the machines there?
If no written proof of it is there, then they are in trouble.
They cant go by word of mouth on that stuff.
Also when you get the stament saying the machines could cause danger and your baby is born with a defect or problem, there is anouther lawsuit for them, no warnings were given about the danger of the equipment(if they gave anything off that is)

SAME THING HAPPEND TO ME at 29 weeks, my boss laid me off because she said she was "downsizing" and I know it's because she didn't want to deal with my pregnancy and the pregnancy disability and maternity leave ..
(I live in California)
I was on unemployment from being laid off .. and now at 35 weeks I'm on "pregnancy disability" and then after that runs out .. I'm going back on unemployment until I find a job.
It's actually ILLEGAL to get "laid off" because the machines at work are a danger! IF you do NOT get your job back after the baby .. you can SUE the business you work for!!
After the baby is born you get:
6 weeks paid maternity leave (for vaginal birth) and can take up to 12 weeks (6 weeks paid/ 6 weeks unpaid) and they still have to give you your job back! and if you have a c-section, you are entitled to 8 weeks paid maternity leave and up to 12 weeks (8 paid / 4 unpaid) and they still have to give you your job back!!
If they do not follow that.. get an attorney!!!
good luck! God bless!

You might need to talk to a lawyer. If you are okay with being off work (i.e., still getting money from Unemployment), and you are guaranteed your job after the baby is born, it might not be worth looking in to, but if you think you were let go just b/c of pregnancy, that is simply not legal in many countries. You might want to post this question in a Law area.

If she is talking about xray machines, she is right. Why would you want to injure your soon to be child. Now if she told you, you had your job back after the baby was born, she is looking out for your child's best interests. If she didn't, did you ask her to come back after the birth. All she has to do is to say that it was not in the best interest of your health to continue employment. No case.

certainly, besides the certainty that no longer very tactful, it incredibly is a prepare taught in administration classes. while placed in an expert place of a branch frequently you could become conscious of "Chatty Cathy" and Workaholic Joe". If layoffs are coming, the boss the two tells Chatty Cathy rapidly or in simple terms implies the layoffs. She spreads the rumors which soften the blow for while the boss comes out with the hardcore actuality. returned, undesirable tact yet a potential regularly used! Rumors are not consistently lies. good luck on your job seek.

She seriously can't do that. That is against the law. Unless your DOCTOR told you it would be dangerous for you, then she can't do that. Go report her.
