the eqn of a straight line is y=mx+c where m is the gradient of the line. so rearrange ur eqn-----
2x+5y=7
y= (-2/5)x +7/5
which makes the gradient -2/5 (m).

Solve for y to put it in slope-intercept form.

5y = -2x + 7

y = -2/5 x + 7/5

The number in front of x (-2/5) is the gradient (or slope).

well bring 2x to the other side, you get:
5y= -2x + 7 .... then divide by 5
y= -2x/5 + 7/5

so gradient is -2/5

2x+5y=7
5y=-2x+7
y=(-2/5)x+(7/5)
y=mx+c
Gradient m =-2/5

write eqn in form of y=mx+c from there m=-2/5 else slope of
ax+by+c=0 is-a/b

5y = - 2x + 7
y = (- 2/5).x + 7 / 5
m = - 2 / 5
