While the Williams sisters have done very well, they should have been dominant for the last several years. Their dilettante attitude towards the sport has really hurt their results.
While they may occassionally be able to take months off, show up at a tourney and win, they can't do that consistantly. Henin is a far more serious player than Serena, and her maturity and preparation showed in the results.
I thought Henin would win, but 6-3,6-4 isn't even competitve. Serena should be ashamed, and she should be ashamed of her classless attitude. Henin is a 3-time champion here. Her win was not a fluke.

Hey she thinks she's the best in the world, her reason for losing is because she had a bad day, and her parents tell her that aswell. What's the moral of the story??? Anybody else would have told her she lost cause she played badly AND henin kicked ***. I doubt Serena would stand for anyone telling her the other person was better and thus a coach would not work out. Serena, great player that she is, has an ego the size of a bus. Which basically means that whenever she's not completely in the zone, she's screwed. Lucky for her she's in the zone quite often...

I think you are just echoing someone else's opinion which is absurd. Why do you think her parents do not know the technicalities of the game? Every tennis players knows about mixing it up. Its easy said than done successfully. Have you read their book on How to Play Tennis? Americans dont do well on clay. Both Serena and Venus do not move as well as the other top players on this surface.

No, she should have done that years ago. At this point all she cares about is modeling and her fashion line. No coach can change that. The price of fame too young has once again hurt the future. If only her name were Serena Woods instead of Williams.

I wouldn't put her losing games down to having her parents as her coaches, its worked really well for her so far, 8 Grand Slams, one of them from this year which shows she is still now playing tennis at a high level to win Grand Slams.
She may be distracted by other areas of her life that she's also now interested in, but if she didn't want to play tennis she wouldn't.

She could but even if she didn't she'll be okay. Lets not forget she won the Aussie and has what, 8 GS? I would admit that I would like to see how the sister's play would change if they went with someone outside their family. It would be interesting but I don't believe they deserve to be put down because their parents are their coaches.

I do not understand why people keep on finding faults in serena's game everytime she loses a match. granted, yes she lost the quarterfinals yesterday; however, it's such an over reaction to say that she's in a slump. for one, how many active female tennis players have won more grand slams than her?? she's won 8 (that's eight)-- i don't know of any actively playing female tennis player who has won more than that. enough said. cut her some slack

with a decade of experience and legendary figure in women professional tennis arena.. it will difficult for the 26 year old Serena to get the rhythm back, that has once along with her elder sis Venus made 'the invincible Williams'...

It's hard to be critical of her parents as she has been one of the best tennis players over the past 10 years. I think she is past her prime now.
