Having watched both the Democrats and Republicans debates on CNN, I was most impressed with two polar opposites, but as to each, for the same reason. Both Dennis Kucinich and Joe Biden (strange bedfellows to be sure) impressed me as the kind of people willing to part ways with political expediencies and declare a set of guiding moral principles as the hallmarks of their respective administrations if elected.

I want to be proud of my country again. In my view, America should stand for the highest of principles and regain its role as a beacon of morality and social justice in the darkness of this world. We should be exporting the American dream, not American jobs. And we should demonstrate to the world, through a dynamic and rubust economy benefitting all of our people, that we flatly reject as Un-American the European brand of socialism, for it is govenment of, by and for the feeble and uninspired. Those are my thoughts and I'd like to hear yours.

Sadly, probably not. The LAST President who had any trace of "principle" in his blood- was Gerald Ford... He actually DID what he felt he had to do for the Country when he pardond Nixon- knowing it could cost him the next Election. Regrettably- principles are NOT high on people's lists for what they want in a Leader. They want someone with THEIR morals; THEIR best-interests; THEIR idea of what a leader should do... -NOT what's best for the Country as a whole. And THAT'S why we have a President like Bush- today.

The only principled possibilities at this point would be Mitt Romney or Fred Thompson! Though neither would be as great as the greatest President of the Twentieth Century, Ronald Reagan, only they would have a chance of being a principled President! However, I'm sure the Dems could probably find some past problem with either of them to nitpick about, even if it's something like one of them stole a nickel when he was 5 years old!

I'm from Ohio and I'm still trying to figure out how Kucinich got elected Mayor of Cleveland! Oh, that's right, the city is full of Dems, Mafia & Union bosses! Biden is just one more Defeat-o-crat!

Yes, a man or a woman of principle may be elected president of the USA. I hope those principles are based in the constitution of the United States and the declaration of independence.
