europe has no geographical value same goes for america apart from NATO's unimaginable economic and military powers they lack everything no natural resources nothin zero keeping in mind that a nuke wouldn't destroy the whole of america so why would iran or NK want to waste a couple of million and billion dollars in developing missiles that would strike europe which is reluctant in provoking either country

I have no idea what the Neo-Cons in Washington are up to!
Bush's remarks are too glib and simplistic, though that is normal for him.
.
The one theory I see often is that American Industries want to sell weapons anywhere they can. I think this is too simple.

My theory is that the countries buying the defensive weapons want to make sure they are protected in case Russia changes over to a Stalinist regime again. Given the way Putin thinks and acts, maybe this is a good idea.

The excuse that Eastern European countries are trying to protect themselves from Iran is dumb. Why would Iran want to launch a missile against Poland? Iran has a modified Han missile that can reach 1800 miles. Good enough to hit Israel maybe.
But can or will they develop a true ICBM ?

Who's to say Japan doesn't already have a missile defense program. Perhaps they want to give Iran a reason to rethink develpoing a missle program.

Oh, wait until after they can do it? Wow, you're a genius. Besides Putin says that he has a missile system that can penetrate any shield, so why would he care? You have to have a few brain cells, or is that just mashed potatoes between your ears?

Well put that question aside a minute and ask yourself why should someone get pissed off about a 'defensive' system??

= what exactly do you think a missile shield is?

The USA wants to share the technology with moderate governments who have nukes to protect all from the fanatical governments and make missiles obsolete.
