Because square boxes are easier, cheaper and more stackable and the people making the pizza don't have to put them together. Plus, pizzas fit in them.

so its easier to get the pizza out of the box & you have space for the sauce. you cant get slices of pizza out of a box when its round since the pizza shape's already round. :]

Boxes are far easier to make as squares and pizzas are far easier to make as circles.

The boxes are made from corrugated cardboard which is cheaper (less waste) to cut, stack and store if square instead of round.
