Let's hear it for the alert Americans at Circuit City!

David M:

Read of the many questions that state the foiling of the plot is attributable to the Bush administration. My point is that the employee probably would have reported something like that anyway.

I didn't hear that he had, but if a Democrat was in office I would bet that both this and the attack on JFK airport would be in the news right now.

I assume you have a serbian origine or you have moved here as a serb. First of all I don't believe that they were really albanians, because albanians are the US's biggest allies, not even UK is more allied with US than Albanians. Second, they might have been serbs that would try to distrupt the status of Kosovo by appearing to be albanians. I ask the question "How come this didn't happen before, like 2, 3, 4, or 5 years ago, but now when solving the status of Kosovo is nearing its end after Kosovo has been administered by UN for 8 years." Serbs will go to any lengths to portray albanians as bad people.

The worst part of this whole Fort Dix/JFK nonsense is how stupid these supposed "terrorists" are.

The Fort Dix group (after leaving Circuit City) planned to try to infiltrate a closed base, attack well armed military personnel, and get away. They had exactly zero chance of succeeding.

The second group planned to start jet fuel on fire (which is very difficult to do), with no explosives, in a pipeline with multiple safety features, based on the memory of a dummy who worked as a baggage handler 12 years ago. They also had exactly zero chance of succeeding.

Can we at least be confine ourselves to being afraid of serious terrorists that have half a brain between them and a plan with some chance of actually causing harm?

You are exactly right. Big thanks to the clerk, and to the FBI for taking it from there. I've seen all the fawning over Bush in regard to this and I think it's pretty funny. I don't think they can help themselves. He's so low in his approval rating and nothing but bad news comes out of the White House these days, so they seize anything they can to try and buttress his image. Like Bush was in on the investigation and any had part besides being briefed on it. Yes, they are desperate these days.

Let's say the wackos had succeeded. You can bet everyone would then be BLAMING Bush for it. So, isn't it fair if they are prevented, he gets a little credit? I mean, fair is fair.

There was a similar incident in the 90s. A border patrol guard caught some Islamo wacko smuggling explosives in from Canada. He was going to blow up the space needle thing in Seattle. Clinton immediately took credit for it, and no one said much about it, even though Clinton had actually cut funding for border patrol the year before.

Well Bush did say to be on the alert for terrorists and activity out of the normal :D.

But seriously the President always gets credit for things he has no control over, be it a good or bad thing.

You'll have to cite a G. Bush reference. I read the article and didn't see one. It says the FBI foiled the plot.

I know I never gave him credit for foiling that plot but I don't blame him for screw ups that are just as far from his reach.

Yet I bet your the same type of person who blames him for the total cockup of Hurrican Katrina aftermath !~

You can not blame him only for the things that go wrong and not the things that go right, you either do not give him credit for anything and do not blame him for the wrong things OR YOU GIVE him credit when it goes right and crtic when its wrong.
