I got a new bike and took it for my first time riding today. The bike would only stay running if i kept some gas on it or else it would die, even in neutral.Unless i kept it reved up. I figured it was the clutch needed to be replaced because the cable was already be stretched out pretty much as much as possible . I also noticed oil/grease leaking from wear the exhaust connects to the engine.Maybe from the wrong oil mixture 40-1?? i dont know im new to the bike. Then i took the bike home and washed it.Started it up and it started was a little smokey , i then ran once up my block and then it died.Tried to start it but nothing i bumb started it started but it bogged down till it died right away. And after that it wouldnt start.Any ideas?

Sounds like you haven't rode a 2-stroke dirt bike very much. These engines tend to foul the plug with oil VERY easily. You can't put it around like a moped for very long before the plug will be COVERED with oil. You have to keep the engine wound up. If it wants to start dying as your riding downshift it and wind it out. You will see some blue smoke as it burns off the oil then it will clean up and run good.

First, get a repair manual for the bike, these are cake to work on yourself.
Sounds like the bike needs a tuneup.
Your clutch cable has nothing to do with why the bike is dying, if it's stretched out, change it, not a big job.
The bike won't run because the plug is fouled. Pull the plug and replace it.
Next, set the throttle cable slack, should be just a touch of slack, 1/16th to 1/8th inch of play. Make sure the cable doesn't pull when you turn the bars from lock to lock.
Check the power valve adjustment, not sure if 02 has the electric PV with cables or is mechanical. At any rate make sure it is adjusted correctly.
Next you want to set your carb up, this is why your bike isn't running.
First, understand two stroke race bikes are not happy sitting idling and running at low rpm, they are made to rip!
You want to adjust the idle screw to get the bike so it will stay running but you'll need to blip the gas every couple of seconds to keep it from fouling out.
The oil mess at the pipe is fairly normal and just needs cleaned up and new gaskets, it's not going to hurt anything just makes a mess.
40-1 mix is about right if you're using reg. premix oil, I have had great luck with running Amsoil full synthetic at 50-1 in multiple bikes. Runs alot cleaner with crisper throttle response.
The main thing is get a good manual and just go over the bike. If it hasn't had a new piston that you know of, look into replacing it so you don't have to buy a new cylinder too.
Have fun with it, these are good bikes.

ok first of all the reason it won't stay running without giving it gas it either because you need to adjust the idle on the carb or because your clutch is dragging.for example if you are getting ready to take off and you put it in gear and you have the clutch pulled in but the bike still jumps and trys to take off then your clutch needs to be adjusted because it's dragging.

as far as black oil running from the exhaust goes you just have to deal with it.they will do it regardless, but if it is really bad you might try replacing the o-ring at the front of the pipe where it connects to the head.your oil mixture sounds fine.i run my bike at 36:1 or 40:1.if you mix it too lean you will seize up the piston.

and when you started it up you didn't let it warm up.it was smokey because it hadn't warmed up yet and when you took off it fouled the plug.you'll need to buy a new plug or take out the one you have and clean it with a wire brush.when you ride you will have to let the bike sit and warm up for about 3-5 minutes depending on the bike.once it starts to quit smoking you can slowly start riding it harder and getting it in the powerband and then after about 7-10 minutes it should be fine to ride as hard as you want.

and just another peice of advice. you said that you took the bike home, washed it,and then started it up.thats a big no no.when you wash it,water can go threw the vent holes and get your air filter wet.and water in your carb is not going to make it run any better.after washing it give the filter plenty of time to dry off before starting your bike back up.

i hope i was somewhat of a help to you man.stay safe on that thing and have fun.

For me it's not MCR or any of those bands, but I honestly don't think I would be here today if it weren't for music like The Beatles. Just because you are a teenager doesn't mean you haven't experienced something that would make you suicidal, and it's not always dependent on how bad an experience is but how that person handles it. I've gone through quite a bit a stuff that has made me want to give up, and coupling that with the fact that I do not handle stress/problems well can really f*ck a person up. For some reason though, listening to songs by The Beatles gives me hope that things have a chance of getting better, or at least it gives me comfort that I am not the only one with problems.

Either the premix ratio of the fuel is to rich - should be 32:1 (32 parts gas - 1 part oil).
Or the compression of the engine is to low to fully ignite the oil in the premix.
Both will cause the exhaust to smoke, black oil to leak from the exhaust and foul the spark plug.
Change the spark plug if its fouled (black & oily).
Check the compression.
If you don't have a tester -
Remove the exhaust pipe and look in the exhaust port with a flash light and mirror.
If you see any scoring of the piston & cylinder wall, or discoloration below the rings, the top end will need to be repaired.
