Surely you can! But don't jump into the bandwagon because everyone else is doing so. You need to evaluate your goals about what you want to do post MBA. For e.g. if you want to move into marketing of products which required knowledge of biotechnology- MBA is the right fit. But if your goal is to go into research then you are better off with a Masters and may be a Ph. D. Evaluate your skill sets and your deepest desires to understand what will be the best for you.
In case you go for an MBA, I think you will be able to cope well. Science students have logical grounding and are accustomed to hard work, so you will be able to make the shift. Having prior knowledge of economics and statistics helps, but it is not necessary. I myself am an MBA in Marketing with around 9 years of post MBA work -ex with last eight in a Fortune 500 Company- and my undergraduate major was Zoology (Honours)... So definitely there are lots of people who have walked this path and it is entirely doable :-)

Definitely! There isn't any limit to the type of undergrad degree you have if you want to go for an MBA.
However, you may need to take some prerequisite undergrad courses before you begin - typically statistics and macro and microeconomics.
