I have this chem question that I have no clue what to do with when it gets to the scientific notation problem! Please help!

Convert 7.45 g to mg. Express the answer in scientific notation, with the correct number of significant figures.

1 gram = 1,000 milligrams

7.45 x 1,000 = 7450 milligrams = 7.450 x 10^3 milligrams

so 7.45 g= 7450 mg.
