If you are referring to "The Deadliest Catch" about Alaskan crab fishing, no. It was actually based on a 3-part mini-series and called "America's Deadliest Season," also about Alaskan crab fishing

Tony Robinson was not prepared for his new book, stage show and Channel 4 series – The Worst Jobs In History.

He says he tested 50 of the foulest careers of the last 2000 years – many involving urine or excrement, and that was if he was lucky.

I think this was the worst in history -- and for one poor bloke, the deadliest! LMAO

GROOM OF THE STOOL

Henry VIII ... would you have wiped his bum?

The groom of the stool was basically Henry VIII's chief bum-wiper. He had to look after the King's poo.

The groom of the stool was basically Henry VIII's chief bum-wiper. He had to look after the King's poo.

And if you didn't do a good job first time around then you could always mop it up with what was called a diper, which was actually a diamond shape piece of linen with a pattern on it.

Thankfully I only mocked that one in the series, no hairy **** was pointed in my direction.

And given how gross Henry VIII was by the time he got to middle age, it was way down the list of jobs that I wanted to experiment.

The strange thing about the groom of the stool is that you'd think it would be the worst job anyone could do, but in fact you became such an intimate of the King only courtiers were chosen to do it.

It was also a very dangerous position to hold, because you were right in the thick of the things – you were the Alan Milburn of your day!

You could rise up the ranks, but go back down just as quickly. And it was not unknown for grooms of the stool to end up with their heads chopped off.

For instance one of them was executed after being accused of having hanky panky with Anne Boleyn.

Deadliest Catch, you mean? No, it's never been called by any other name. Last week on After the Catch (follows the show) they discussed the significance of the show's title. Perhaps you are confusing narrator Mike Rowe with his other show, Dirty Jobs?

Maybe you are getting "Deadliest Catch" and "Dirty Jobs" mixed up. Both are shows on Discovery Channel.

hmmm, there's a fine line.....door to door salesman is a tough job. Lots of walking, doors slammed in you face, you're on a bad commision. Not exactly deadly though.

In the old days of textile mills it was one person's job to sweep under the machine while it was weaving back and forth. Sweeping sounds easy but if you weren't paying attention the weaving shuttle would crush and kill you.
