my friend is 16 and has 2 kids (she is not a s*** one of them was rape and the other was well just sex but still she is not a s***) her mom is triing to use her youngest to control her is there anything she can do?

As stated by another user here in a different thread, Ohio has no provision under law for emancipation other than marriage or joining the military.

Your friend is not emancipated and won't be until she reaches the age of 18 or concludes one of the above steps.

Getting married over 16 maybe, but having a child doesn't! You can't even apply for "welfare" (which it is not called any longer) TANIF until you are 16. Your life on TANIF is 2 years. After that you get nothing!

The only thing you have a legal right is the child!

The child is hers, not her mothers! She may allow her mother to use the child because of residence or the need for a baby-sitter, but legally her mother has no say, unless a court gives her one!

She needs to get emancipated. You are not a legal adult just cause you got knocked up!

She could get married; having a kid doesn't make you an adult.
