If the computer shuts down while installing, one of the reasons could be the power supply cannot supply enough power. You may need to buy a more powerful power supply. Check with your local computer repair store if this is the case.

Another reason is interference from other windows processes, have him boot into save mode (usually constantly hitting F8 or F10 during the computer's boot up cycle, select "Safe Mode", log into the Administrator account, and install it there).

Another thing you can do is to make sure that the Windows is up to date. Run Windows Update and make sure you have the latest fixes installed.

If there is a Blue Screen before the computer restarts, try and read what the screen says and it should tell you what crashed.

The more obvious course of action would be to contact the manufactures of the game and let them know of your problems while installing. They may know exactly how to fix it.

It Sounds Like The Computer Has Insufficient Resources For The Game. Check The Game Box For Minimum System Requirements. Make Sure That All Of Them (ESPECIALLY THE VIDEO CARD) Meet Them. If This Is Not The Problem Try Turning OFF (Or REMOVING Temporarily) Any Virus/Spyware Software You Have Installed. If You Still Have A Problem BLAME VISTA Call Microsoft For Help (Or Better Still - GET A MAC) Good Luck!!

Does the computer have the requirements to run the game, for example processor speed, ram memory size, graphics card size? If so it's a problem with good Ol'Vista, call Microsoft.
