The real story is that there are no UFOs. Like most astronomers, I spend a lot of time looking at the sky, day and night. And I have never ever in fifty years seen anything I couldn't identify. And no other astronomer I know has seen a UFO either. UFOs are mostly seen by people who are simply not familiar with the sky and/or atmospheric phenomena. They see something they're not familiar with, and so, to them, it is "unidentified". An astronomer or a meteorologist will look at the same thing and say, "Yes, that's Venus," or "Yes, that's a fireball," or "Yes, that's a cloud formation."

If by UFO you mean truly "unidentified flying objects", then there might be some real stories out there. But as long as something is unidentified, then there no proof yet.

If by UFO you mean "spacecraft from another planet guided by intelligent extraterrestrial beings" then they are no longer UFOs (unidentified) - they are "identified" but unproven.

There are no real stories of either with any scientific, quantifiable, measurable proof.

I once saw a large, metallic looking sphere that hovered at very high altitude and then moved away at high speed. It turned out to be a piece of thistledown that my brain had decided was a long way away rather than the few feet it realy was. The effect was totaty convincing while it lasted!

These guys think they are real. Who are they? Just high ranking military and government officials; most of whom held a Top Secret clearance at one time.........People just because you haven't seen a UFO....that doesn't mean they don't exist.

NO, nobody has ever seen an extra-terrestrial UFO. Those who say they have fall into 2 main categories:

1. Ignorant people who have no observational experience
2. Kooks
