I already have headbands. What accessories would you recommended buying without looking like you tried too hard?

1] shoes - ballet flats, wedges, flip flops, 'skateboard' sneakers
2] handbag - satchel or tote or both
3] jewelry - anything non-juvenile [ no teddy bears or kitties ]
4] cell phone - turn off in school
5] MP3 player
6] high school underwear - no granny panties, nylon, or 'babyish' prints. Wear hi-cut, bikinis, hipsters [ I refuse to recommend thongs - I think they are unhygienic ]

Ponytail holders and get involved in an after school activity. You can wear your hair down during the day and at the afterschool activities (sporty of course) put it up in the holder. This way you can have a cute "bracelet" all day and a hair holder in the afternoon. Also, just in case your hair gets on your nerves during the day, you can always just pull it up into the holder.

Vertical earrings are great too. Not the chucky circular ones. Then you would be trying too hard.

And if you are going to go all out. then make sure you do it in the purse category. You can never try to hard with any kind of purse.

the key to looking good in high school is to never look like your trying to hard, i.e. wearing heals to school. stilettos and a back pack never go. if i were you i would hit up a place like Claire's accessories and buy many different types and styles of accessories. as long as you don't try to wear them all (like a bracelet, watch, necklace, earrings, headband, rings, and sunglasses) it will always come off as cute but not over done. i always wore different earrings and tried to not always wear the same ones. eBay and thrift stores are great because they are cheap and you can have one of kind (at least at your high school) stuff. good luck :)
