Coins in my pocket, bills in my wallet... though on occasion, when on holiday, I use a money clip for carrying cash.... in which case coins AND bills in my pocket.

wallets get stolen. rarely does the contents of a pocket get stolen unless it's a wallet. I put most of my money in a pocket, and only some in a wallet. when carrying a large sum, i keep a few dollars in a money clip which i can throw in one direction, while running in another. a robber will usually go for the money on the clip, rarely after the victim.

Both, it just depends. sometimes I don't carry a purse, or wallet, so I keep it in my pocket.
