If it's painful, then you've inserted it incorrectly. If you do it correctly, you should not be able to feel a thing.

Here's a great web site that will answer more of your concerns:

It really depends on the size of it . If this is your first time using a tampon you might want to start of with a slender sized tampon and a pantyliner just in case of leakedge. but after you've read the instructions use your better judgement on how to insert and the possiablity of tss. deffinetly talk to some one older and honest about tampons.

It can, a bit, sometimes. Try putting your leg up on the toilet seat and aiming the tampon backwards. It helps ease the tampon in without pain.

It should not. Unless you are totally scared or nervous or just plain "not built" for one (in which case it should only be a bit of a discomfort - not painful), it should be fine. Try the ones that are plastic or softer applicators too because sometimes the cardboard ones can be abrasive. They don't hurt but they just don't slide in as easily.

if you put it in wrong it will...use a slender one...but in any case you shouldn't even feel it when it is properly inserted. Make sure you use the lowest absorbency you need and make sure you read the directions it has important info on tss (toxic shock syndrome)...a condition you can get from using tampons that can be deadly.....seriously!

Yes if you do not put it in right, and getting the right size and all that will depend if it hurts too. Just make sure you read the instructions on how to use properly and you should be alright.

Absolutly not! It does feel a bit akward at first when you put it in, but it doesn't hurt. The only time that it would hurt putting a tapon in is if you put it in the wrong way, or put it in too far.

if you follow the directions you wont even feel it. Try the slim fit ones made for teens first, then use heavier flow once you are used to inserting them

no, it doesn't hurt, you'll feel a little uncomfortable if you don't put it right but you'll get use to it when you get more experience. Try to get the ones that fit you, start with the smaller ones, and less absorvency.
