It to me would be the opposite of a wisdom seeking life. So to me it would be about the stupidist thing you could do. You might as well spit in Gods face if God does exist. Its not about excitement its about learning as far as I see it. Nothing about living a non mundane life says your not content with beauty and simplicity. Its just you want to see things percieved as not being beauty or simplicity changed to that of one that is. This most often means changing your perspective before you change the object itself. Infact you really cant change the object untill you change your perspective at least a lil.

My favorite man, Albert Einstein, stated "There are two ways to live life...One is as though nothing is a miracle, The other is as though everything is a miracle. I think the only thing bad is feeling your living a mundane life simplicity or excitement is relative....

It isn't bad if the mundane life makes one happy. Just as beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so too is mundanity. The object of life is not to live by the standards of others, but by one's own.

try reading "Waiting for Godot", a play by Samuel Beckett... it made me think about this same question...
no matter what you do with life it is a waste of time in the grand scheme of things-- so why not add whatever excitement you want. Never have a "life-track", just let life take you for a ride. Sit back, enjoy the simplicity of knowing that you are but one organism in this crazy little thing called existence...

It is good for some and bad for others. Some people do not want another outside their own mundane existance, and some wither and die in it.
Having said that, what is mundane to some people might not be for others.

Try to strike a happy medium. Much of life is full of the mundane. There's really no escaping it. The trash has to be taken out, the chores have to be done, the grocery shopping has to be done, the laundry has to be done, etc.

Good...the challenge is to find the beauty in your life and to appreciate it for what it is. Mundane doesn't have to mean boring...boring is an internal trait of the individual.

Whatever you want. Life has no meaning or purpose. if you spend you entire life sitting and watching TV or your entire life traveling the world and learning new things, when you are dead, it's all irrelevant.
You will have no memories, no regrets, no joys, no nothing. You will be gone... poof! So do whatever you want to do right now.

My grandfather, who played in a band, would frequently say, "Not everyone can be the first violin or the soloist, some must push the wind through the trombone."
