If you are feeling in any way that something is not right - check with the dr. It is better safe than sorry. Yes you will feel weird pains because there are SO many changes in your body - with your organs being shifted and your tendons and muscles and skin stretching.. It is normal to be scared or worried about these changes because they are so different than anything you know. The pains are probably just the stretching and the flutters are what is called quickening and absolutely normal. I am sure you are ok but if you don't feel right contact your dr - they have heard it ALL and a good dr will want you to be checked out and feel ok with what is going on.

My doctor probably hated me! I have had four pregnancies but the older I got the more pain I was in. With my last one, I thought for sure I was having a miscarriage. They ran all kinds of tests on me, numerous ultrasounds, etc! Come to think of it, my insurance company must have hated me too!! But I was cramping terrible in the beginning and then I had terrible rumbling sensations. Once those feelings turned to gas, I knew it was the baby moving!! Yep. I never got "butterfly" feelings. My kids always felt like gas when they first started their acrobats! But my suggestion is to NEVER EVER ignore any pain. Talk to your doctor about everything. Chances are they are absolutely normal. I do like the idea of the book the other person recommended. That will tell you a lot as well if you have nobody to talk to. All of my pain turned out to be nothing until the end. I was having terrible discomfort from my son towards the last few months and it was the fact that he had not flipped. The bugger never did flip! I was scheduled for a c-section but he decided he wanted to speed up the process. He came three weeks early (via unscheduled c-section) so I didn't get my regular doctor but all went quite well!! You will do fine as long as you take care of yourself and never ignore your body or your instincts!!

how far along are you?? those feelings could be your uterus growing and gas and bowel distention. everything is moving around and trying to make more room for the baby. I am in my second pregnancy and I have been feeling the same thing. I wondered what it was but then I read my book (you forget what it's like after 5 years) and it helped me alot. go and pick up the book what to expect when your expecting it should help and maybe if you see other books you might like pick them up too. when you are all worried about everything it can help calm you when you know whats normal and what is going on inside of you.
