A round box would be much too expensive to mass produce, also it is easier to stack square boxes then round.

There are a few reasons like stacking and storing the boxes and things like that but for all practical purposes, it's really to make the product seem larger than it actually is. Making you feel you got a greater deal than you really have.

Because squares are easier to stack and store away as most storage areas you find will have straight edges, therefore making it easier to stack square boxes instead of circles.
