This is not a post made in jest. The reality is that workers at all income levels are taxed way too much. And, 60% of each dollar they pay in taxes goes to "entitlements". At some point workers are going to say they are tired of having their hard earned money taken away from them and quit. Then they will join those on welfare.

Unless it was done simultaneously, it would fail because we have to pay taxes (or so I have been brought up to believe) or the government would go bankrupt. The government prints the money - they would print more at least for a little while until they got control of the people. If there is no control of the masses, what we have a chaos and chaos does not solve anything. I am for an all out revolt in America, but I don't know of very many people who would support such an action.
Look at what we have - we have a corrupt government, an even more corrupt society, and people (millions and millions) that are either out of work, out of money, and out of any meaningful resources. It isn't a feasible situation - yet - unless every citizen realizes what is happening and what has happened in America in the last half century. There is too much greed and the wealth of the world is in the hands of less than 100 people. What should the citizens do?

Workers, indeed, should be paying less taxes and those people who make the most money from workers and the world's resources should be paying more taxes.

I don't buy that trickle down theory stuff. It hasn't proved to be true.

I'm sorry, capitalism has its virtues, but we need to put a cap on capitalism. When a handful of people, I think a dozen, have more personal wealth than 40 percent of the world's population combined, then that's a bit greedy. Nice that Gates is willing to share. I commend him for that.

But there's no reason that enough can't be enough. Tax the people who got their money from labor and resources that belong to all of us ... that is the world.

People who are very wealthy had experiences, fun, trials etc. getting their money. Some of them got it through having special privileges. But I don't believe any of them worked any harder for it than people who work at McDonalds or in factories etc. etc. The rich can be rewarded with special honors and prestige for their contributions. They don't have to accumulate so much. They'll still have good lives.

What? You mean I can quit my job and "join those on welfare"?? Does that mean I can become a huge, multi-billion-dollar corporation that gets all those great tax breaks, gets government grants, government bail-outs when I'm mismanaged, and then move my corporate headquarters to the Cayman Islands and pay no tax at all to the United States? Where do I sign up?? -RKO-

On what basis are they taxed too much? We have one of the lowest effective tax rates in the developed world.
What you really mean is that you are paying more tax than your selfish petty nature approves of but you are too ashamed to admit it - hence we pretend there is some valid basis to an economic theory that has been proven a failure twice but you support out of pure greed.

I have NEVER heard of anybody who decided to make less money because they were paying too much in taxes.
