Serious question for Democrats...?

When I think of Democrats, I think about people with idealistic standards, but I wonder about it in reality. Here are some examples - William Jefferson (indicted on all kinds of charges, including shaking down poor African nations and misusing assets in New Orleans that could have been helping Katrina victims), John Edwards (anti-gay comments, "uncomfortable with them" and millions made from lawsuits that we are all paying for, plus giant carbon footprint), Joe Biden (racially and ethnically insensitive comments about Indians and Sen. Obama), Rev. Jackson ("Hymie-town), Sen. Robert Byrd (KKK Klegal [recruitment director] for West Virginia KKK). So here is my question - why do you put up with this crap? Why am I so awful for being part of a different party?

I wonder about that myself. But Citizen Jane answered it. The Dems aren't idealistic at all, they think it's OK to do it because there are corrupt Repubs.

Oh and did you know that the Repubs have a rule in Congress that if you are indicted, you are kicked out? How many of the ones on Jane's list were kicked out? Gary Studs (had sex with minor page) wasn't, nor was the Democrat Representative from Mass. whose boyfriend was running the out call service from his house. That's the real point.

Well there is the little matter that the 2 worst presidents in the history of the United States of America have come from your party in the past 27 years. Your party sold out to corporations and religious nuts so you end up with treasonous scum like RonOld RayGun and Crackie the Wonder President .......destroying our Constitution, running up insane deficits while cutting taxes for the financial elites, waging immoral, illegal, unconstitutional wars. .....2 pieces of human garbage.

Both parties are full of people with poor morals, but the general trend is that the party that is not in office is looked upon as the party with higher ideals, mostly because they do not have the task of running a country on their desks. For example, most people today would think of democrats as the people with idealistic standards. However, for much of the mid to late 90's with democrats in control of the white house and the monica lewinsky scandal, republicans were definitely thought of as people with higher morals.

Senator Byrd, by the way, is the longest serving U.S. Senator ever. And he terribly regrets his membership in the Ku Klux Klan. But he has done great things for this country.

Everyone makes commenst they wish they could take back. Everyone, at one time or another, has said something that offends some group.
