Hope-
The '08 Taurus & Sable sedans are already in production & due at dealerships VERY soon !
The wagon/crossover versions , Taurus X & Sable X, are due late summer.
There is a Fordstar broadcast regarding them on Friday June 8, 2007, which will further detail the subject.
So if your question is still open then I can come back & give you further details.
If it has been resolved, you can still email me via my profile page & I'll be happy to share the details with you.

Some dealerships have non-salable demo units on the lot, but should be receiving inventory soon. Job One at the plant in Chicago was last month. Check the "Search Inventory" feature on the MercuryVehicles.com site.

Also, the new JD Power quality survey recognized Montego (being renamed as Sable) in the top three for overall quality in the large car segment, and was also awarded a top Five Star crash rating for front, rear and side.

The Taurus X and Sable X are the "cross over" versions of the sedan. The Freestyle of today will be the Taurus X of next year.

I'm impressed with both cars.

They're coming out with a Sable X? That sounds cool.

in response to the prevous smart a*s*s, sure the Montego has poor sales record but what does that have to do with how nice the car is? the changing of the name is to help improve the sales because it is an excelent car.

Not yet, it's due this fall. The current model is called the Montego which has been plagued with horrible sales records. Is this really the car you want? Why?
