Actually John Paul is wrong.

The 3.7 was never used in an LH platform.

The 3.5 is NOT a Mitsubishi engine, the 2.7 is.

Based on the options your car has it wont have the 2.7. It could have the 3.2 but more then likely the 3.5. The 3.2 is just a smaller 3.5 and the 3.5 has been around since 1993.

I also disagree with the problem with the price. Fully loaded in good running condition? What do you expect to pay? $3100 out the door hes only paying about 2800 for the car. He could get like a 98-99 Cavalier for that.......

In comparison you will find that parts are really not that expensive. You cant expect every single part to be cheap on any make or mode. Jeremy stated his break booster,a/c compressor, 1 window and the trunk struts have failed. Original owner! Thats really not bad for 174k on any vehicle.

If you want less miles with the same options you can pay 5-6g's. Otherwise your getting what your paying for. Overall its a nice ride.

John Paul is right, but I have a feeling you're not looking for quite as much out of your car as he is. Chrysler is a decent company, but you'll find that all American brand cars aren't of the best quality. Every Chrysler and Dodge I've ever had has been great for me. There are still quite a few concordes on the road, and with all the features you're getting, it sounds like a pretty good deal. The concorde is fairly decent on gas (similar to the Chrysler Intrepid). Should you have any problems with the car, DO NOT take it to a Chrysler dealer to have it fixed. Chrysler has had problems with customer service for years, and they usually don't permaniently fix the problem, or they can't find it. I have more success with Ford, they'll accept any brand of car (within reason) and if it's a quick fix, they generally don't charge you for it. Good luck with your new car.

I would say no. I have a 98 concorde lxi with 174K miles, I am the original owner and In the last year I have had a lot of problems with it. The vacuum pumps for the breaks had to be replaced, one of the windows has stopped working, the ac compressor has stopped working, the trunk no longer stays up on its own, and the list goes on. The up side is that I have never had any problems with the engine at all.

The main thing to keep in mind is that parts for a concorde are expensive. If anything breaks down you are going to be paying pretty penny to get it fixed.

I don't plane on keeping mine through the year, its on its last leg and I would bet that the one you are looking at may not show it but probably won't last past 200k. So your probably looking at getting a car that will last you a year maybe a little more for $3000+. Not a good deal.

Please! 3,100 for a 8 year old car? Just how many good Chrysler Concords you still running about? Really lame cars with a combination of mitsubushi and american and a little of what ever parts were available. The biggest engine was a 3.7 V-6 and some with a 3.5 mitsubushi motor. You can do more with your 3,100 dollars than that.

I must agree with motherof2boys, plus her facts are mostly correct (not all). I had a 98 Concorde, the first year for that body style, and it was a fantastic car. They still look good today in terms of styling. Mechanically it should hold up well, they were good quality cars. I say go for it.

i have owned 3 LH cars with the 3.5 and got well over 200,000 miles out of all of them the only problem with the 3.5 are timing belts and water pumps.....i used to work at a chrysler dealer and had to work on 2.7's under warranty and let me tell ya those engines are JUNK!!! if it has a 2.7 stay the hell away from it

Yeah I agree with the guy above!!! Those 2.7 Liter engines are not good at all!!! Buyer Beware with those!!! I hear those engines have horrible oil sludge problems. But if it has a 3.2 Liter Engine I highly recommend it!!! 3.2's are known for being absolutely bullet proof!!!

i like motherof2boys answer because it's true, well most of it. you should look more into the engine/trans than the options. do you see parts that will require replacement sooner than you think? how did the seller drive his car, nascar style or easy on the car?
