Do you think the threat of terror has been exaggerated by this administration? -OR- Do you think it has been underestimated by Democrats?

Totally underestimated by democrats.

Their tactics of indiscriminent slaughter, blood lust and demented ideology of hatred and domination has been well documented - have the democrats not been paying attention?

We pretty much know the effects of a victory in Iraq - a democratic society and a crushing defeat for the radicals' objectives - we can only guess at the consequences of a defeat, a victory by the Islamic radicals could be just the start.

Does anyone think the terrorists will abandon their tactics if they are successful?
Not very likely.

A little of both. The treat of terror is a real one that is not just an American problem but a problem to many countries. Just ask places like India, Spain, and the UK about it. But there have been times where the republicans have made a mountain out of a mole hill. remember the NFL Stadium hoax. Eventhough it was a know hoax the administration still ran the story as a potential terrorist attack. With the most recent JFK plot, many people championed it as a some sort of stop to the ticking timebomb, regardless of the fact that most experts who deal with counter terrorism and who work on these tankers said their plan wouldn't work mainly because there are already safeguards in place to deal with this attack. Also saying that this was more hype than actual threat. Same thing with the Fort Dix 6 anyone who has been to a military base knows this plan would have failed right at the gate. Mainly because if you are a delivery man you can not bring in visitors without authorization and a car full of six guys with guns on a base filled with MP's who have M-16's and other automatic rifles and who are weapons experts would have quelled the attack before it started. But with that said there is still a threat because eventhough these plans were just dumb and would never work there are still people who have intent on hurting the USA which can not be forgotten.

I think the Dems are underestimating the threat and have a lot of excuses for doing so.

Neither, I don't think the dems "underestimate" the threat, I just don't think they have the right solution to counter the problem. After 9/11 I don't see how anyone could feel an "exaggerated" threat of terrorism. It hasn't been that long...

Wayyyyy exaggerated by Bushie and the boys. IT is called the politics of fear. It is an old policy used by tyrants and dictators to get and keep control of people. Read the following quote and you will see how and why it is done. It was said by a famous leader:

“Naturally the common people don't want war; neither in Russia, nor in England, nor in America, nor in Germany. That is understood. But after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine policy, and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is to tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.”

Want to guess who said this?????

Hermann Goering, Nazi.
