I decided to go to Ancestery.com and typed in my Grandmothers name. It came up with her last address and her social security number, her birth and death date. Seriously! That just seems scary to me.

That is very disturbing. It reminds me of those movies when someone needs a new identity and they go to the library and find a death certificate of someone and take over their identity. Like this world needs more ways to scam people.

I don't see anything wrong with finding out information you need. Why was it scarry to you, If you didn't want this information, why did you do it in the first place? I'd love to know about my ancestors. There may be things you don't like to know about so why look it up to begin with???

What would really be spooky is if you were to type in your own
name and SSN and your death date came up.
