Hershiser pitched 59 consecutive scoreless innings, from 30-August-1988, 6th inning, through 28-Sept., as follows:
30-Aug - 4 innings pitched
05-Sept - 9 IP
10-Sept - 9 IP
14-Sept - 9 IP
19-Sept - 9 IP
23-Sept - 9 IP
28-Sept - 10 IP (game went 12)
Technically, we could add 1/3 of an inning for the last out of the 5th in the first game, but that's a bit too easy and baseball tends not to recognize that, preferring to start with a complete inning.
In the 1988 NLCS, Hershiser then went 8.1 innings in Game 1 before the Mets scored, so his streak could be considered as 67.1 IP, but baseball keeps postseason stats separate, so this is only for curiosity's sake.
Moving to 1989, Hershiser went only 2/3 of an inning before allowing a run, so the streak could also be considered as 59.2 or 60.0 IP, but again baseball doesn't typically acknowledge records as continuing between seasons.
59.0 IP is the typically recognized record, though there are other ways of looking at it as shown.

Has the streak been broken yet? If not he's quite close to to Orel Hershiser's record of 50 9 2/3 of Consecutive scoreless innings pitched. I thoroughly have savour for the guy.
