If it bothers you then here is what you can do. Go to Costco and fill up a cart with perishables and go up to the cashier. Have the cashier ring it all up and then say you forgot you wallet and your gonna run to your car and you will be right back. Leave. Doesnt make much sense but will make you feel so good.
1 Question - since I dont have a costco around here was wondering if they have cart corrals for the carts to be placed into so this kind of thing doesnt happen. If you leave something out and the wind blows it in the road and damage occurs - we all know we are responsible for that.
Jeep damage - sounds like an insurance claim to me.

If someone rams into your car while driving their own car, while on Costco property, is Costco responsible for paying the damages?
There's nothing you can do about runaway carts unless the cart boy slammed into your car while picking up carts.

Most stores put a sign up in their cart corrals that say, "Not responsible for damage done by carts in the parking lot". It sucks. I know. I've been hit by other cars - hit and runs are great.

Most parking lots are the same. They are not responsible for something they have no control over. They usually post signs that say they are not responsible for damage done to your car. This also includes if your car is broken into on their property. Both have happened to me,I had to pay the damages.

How can they be? Who would expect they should be? Most businesses have signs clearly stating that they "cannot be held responsible for loss or damage" to your car.
If they were, peple would be driving their POS cars to every store and claiming damage.
Then your Red Bull and Marlboros would cost three times as much.

Yes they are. You may have to get a lawyer. they neglected to have their employee or employees to do their job and keep the parking lot free of these carts, which can not only cause damage, can cause accidents and is their property and they failed to maintain control of it.
