I would hedge my bets on most people not really knowing. But I would like to point out that your saying that Conservatives are closed minded and liberals are not would make you a hypocrit. And on another note I am a conservative, who knows what it means, and I don't think Liberals are closed minded, but I do not in any way, shape or form agree with their views.

You judge all conservatives as "close minded" and then whine for us not to judge you? If that isn't the epitome of a liberal double standard, I don't know what is. Why don't those of us who disagree just not argue with you so we don't upset your delicate feelings. Your whole premise belies your assertion, a truly open minded person understands the opposition. Anybody can label someone close minded when they don't understand them.

No, most people simply put ugly labels on others and really don't know what it means, anyway. LOL
Thanks for the simplification of terms - doubt it helps some people, though.
Gawd, we are such a divided people - it used to get ugly before, but now, it's all running out of control. Speaking of control - I believe that is what has been going on in our government for the past 5 1/2 years - control through fear tactics!
The war in Iraq for example, was not about terrorist's being there - but, it is now! fUvery much gw, and company...!

Well conservatives and liberals come in many different shapes and sizes. TO me if you strongly support one group or the other you pretty much are close minded. I am one of those people that is hated in San Francisco for my beliefs on abortion and hated in the Evangelical south for my beliefs on the death penalty and gay rights. Extremists on both sides tend to be the most closed minded of any of us. Ann Coulter and Michael Moore are equally close minded to me.

Conservative - ambitious, hard worker, generally take care of themselves.
Liberal - open hand, extend palm, demand handouts.
