I sort of agree with all the people saying Tom Brady, but I have to go with Rod Smith. Smith has had one of the greatest careers in the history of the NFL, and he didn't even get drafted! And by the way, Tom Brady was a 6th rounder, not a 7th rounder. Kurt Warner clearly wasn't a great player himself, he just looked great with incredible targets like Holt, Bruce, and Faulk to throw to. The fact that he was never a decent starter after leaving the Rams is proof of that. Among recent players, Rod Smith is the best choice for greatest player to go low or undrafted.

Warren Moon-won 5 Grey Cups (in 1978, 1979, 1980 MVP, 1981 and 1982 MVP) the CFL equivalent of the Superbowl. Phenomenal regular season QB. In his final CFL season of 1983, Moon threw for a league record 5,648 yards, and won the CFL's Most Outstanding Player Award. 9 Pro bowls. He was inducted into the CFL Hall of Fame in 2001 and was elected into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006, becoming both the first UNDRAFTED quarterback and the first African-American quarterback to be so honored. Tennessee retired his number Oct 1st 2006 and October 29th the Kansas City Chiefs also retired his number. Combining his NFL and CFL stats, Moon's numbers are staggering: 5,357 completions for 70,553 yards and 435 touchdowns, all of which are massively higher than the NFL records for each category. Even if his Canadian League statistics are discounted, Warren Moon's career is still exceptional: 3,988 completions for 49,325 yards (the fourth-highest in NFL history), 291 touchdown passes, 1,736 yards rushing, and 22 rushing touchdowns.

I would have to say Terrell Davis. He went from a question mark to being a record breaker and 2 time Superbowl winner. I mean just imagine what John Elway's legacy would be without TD carrying the team for those years. If it wasn't for him injuring himself on a tackle he was making he may have been able to do so much more.

Also, I have to add Adam Vinatieri to the list because of his incredible performances under pressure. We are talking about a kicker who has played in 5 superbowls and won 4. In two of those games he made the game winning kick. Vinatieri has helped define two quarterback's careers by helping win when it counted. However, TD's physical nature and the nature of work that a RB has to do in the first place has made me put him number 1.

Trent Green, he was drafted in the 8th round back in 1993 I believe. Terrel Davis was drafted in the 6th round and Preist Holmes was undrafted free agent. Tom Brady is one of the best since he was a 6th round pick and he won 3 Super Bowls.

Rod Smith, greatest undrafted player in the history of the NFL.
Ranked 15th in NFL history in receptions and 16th in receiving yards, has had eight 1000-yard seasons, wears two Super Bowl rings, and played a major role in winning me $100 in my fantasy league in 2005.
Give the man some love.

Kurt Warner, who was undrafted, is ranked third all-time in terms of QB rating (behind Steve Young and Peyton Manning). He's also a two-time NFL MVP, a Super Bowl MVP, and got to 2 Super Bowls, winning 1.

Tom Brady, no doubt! Whoever said Troy Smith is a moron. He will never do anything with the Ravens. Oh, back to Brady. He has won three rings, has everything in the world, and was drafted in the 5th round, 199th pick. The greatest steal in the world at that pick.

I always think of Brady, but there have been a lot, especially when there were like, 15 rounds in the draft.
