This is a quick-growing weed that looks a bit like rhubarb at the base...it grew 6 feet tall in 3 weeks! They are sucking up all the water from my rose bushes and I need to know how to kill it!

The hollow stalks sounds like it might be from the milkweed family.
At any rate, Don't Wait So Long to Get Rid of It!!! If it has a long root, be sure that you remove as much as possible!!
