What's the best way to measure my pulse? I don't get the neck, and the wrist thing. I sometimes put my hand on my heart, and just feel for a beat, but that never works, because I always get a pulse of 22, and that's not right here!

So...?

Check your pulse in your wrist. Start when the minute hand is say...on the 4 and count until it comes around to 4 again and whala,,, thats your pulse.

There are several points used for checking pulse. Most common are radial (wrist), carotid (neck), femoral (groin), dorsalis pedis (top of foot), and so on. While the carotid pulse is usually the strongest, it may be better for some to try an area where you can gently press an artery against a bone(such as radial artery against the radius bone of the arm). If you are having trouble with these common areas, try pressing the inside of your upper arm right below the bicep muscle. This is your brachial pulse, a fairly large artery backed by a fairly large bone (your humerus). Press hard enough to get through the soft tissue, but not so hard you occlude the artery. This may take a little practice, but once you get the feel for it, you should be able to assess your pulse easily.

use your index and middle fingers on one hand ( the one with the wristwatch) and touch the inside wrist of the other, near the outside of that wrist. When you feel a pulse (move your two fingers slowly around until you do) count as many as you can in 15 seconds (that"s why you use the watch hand to feel) they multiply by 4 and you got your pulse per minute
