So I fall in a category of my own. I am a proclaimed Democrat and I am proud of that. However I have some conservative views. Suchs as the war we are fighting, government control, corporate taxation, welfare, illegal immigration etc... Why does that make me a bad liberal? I think our media has lost control. I love Hillary, but they have already ruined her chances of being President. Why when it comes to politics does a liberal view have to be all or none? Why can't there be some rationalizing?

I am really enjoying yall's answers. Sometimes I feel I am more Libertarian than anything. Some of my liberal views are like volleyballchik said. I am very against the death penalty. We are not God. I don't believe in a war on drugs, I don't like guns and I am very anti NRA, I believe in gay marriage and adoption, I am very pro-choice (not because I am a Dem, but because I am guy, I could never feel what a woman is or what would come that way). I guess I like to read and learn all options.

Perhaps I have a little crush on Hillary. How could you not? She is hot in her ownself, but a little scary and over the top. Mr. Bill was a great man though.

I think too that many Liberals have gone crazy and are playing the blame game. Take gas prices for instance. Everyone wants to blame Bush and the War. That really is not even a factor in what we pay. People choose not to learn.

Also Global Warming. Liberals and the media are falling into a trap of being PC. The truth is being neglected. It is all false promises. Just like George Bush. "No New Taxes". I am tired of false promises. I am ready for truth and realness. For that I will leave my party behind.

We have reached a point where we all really need to be educated about what is really going on. For that to happen, we have to know both sides. Please learn and read everyone. That will make an informed decision and a help us choose a great leader.

I am right there with you.

I am also a "sensible liberal". My conservative views fall in the illegal immigration policies and the death penalty. But I also agree with you on the media and their "power". I think there should be some responsibility in media, but alas, they seem to think they can hide behind the first amendment. It is sad.

Thats an oxymoron..

Any dolt that supports the likes of henry reid or pelosi is in fact an insurgent. You support a party that would sacrifice the free world in an effort to spite bush.. prime example is henry reid captitulating to the terrorists by stating we have lost the war.. or by pelosi, who instead of showing respect to our fallen heros on memorial day,she went to talk in greenland on the number one false leftist propaganda of the day.. global warming..

Global warming has NOT been agreed upon by ALL of the scientists.. just a few wackos on the left. Answer one for me moonbats.. Mars is losing a lot of its glacial ice Its it bush's fault ? is it global warming caused by man ?

Try researching solar radiation.. as well as a cyclical environment. Lets go back 20 years when you moonbats predicted by the year 2000, New York would be covered in ice and we would be in an ice ago.. crikets chirping

Lets also talk on kyoto.. we are allowing china to dump more c02 and polution into the air than we cold produce than if every man women child in the USA drove a ford excursion.. and then some

Your actions are threating the free world.. just look at my pretty pony john edwards.. the war on terror is a bumper sticker.. same reaction that clinton did with the bombing in africa, uss cole, mogadishu.. and what happened ? The enemies of the USA thought we were a paper tiger..

For those moonbats that think we are causing these radicals.. look to slick and president peanut (worst president in history) we were attacked then.. before iraq

Selective memory from the left is threatening the lives of the free world

I think this applies for the majority of people in our country right now regardless of what party you belong to. It is disgusting.
I think you fall into the category of just sensible, period.
It's as if you have to be liberal or neocon, despite the fact that most people are somewhere in the middle.
Watching the debate tonight, I was struck by how little difference there is in the candidates. The only person that seemed to really speak his mind was Ron Paul. I feel the same way about the Dems.

I think that you have hit the nail on the proverbial head with your question. I also claim liberal leanings, but am also a devote Christian. I find that because I have strong leanings on social issues (i.e. serving the poor, women's rights, and universal health care) I get the middle finger every time I am in a discussion concerning my politics in certain religious circles. Does it make me not a Christian because I think the Democrats or even the Greens have a more biblical perspective concerning the role of government in its service to the country.

I also feel that I fall into conservative leanings concerning issues of immigration. I struggle with questions like - Why does our government (i.e. President Bush and both houses of Congress) not put more pressure on Felipe Calderón's administration to prohibit (in Lou Dobb's terms) the invasion of our countries sovereignty ? Why is our government not more publically putting pressure on countries like Mexico concerning the constant flow of illegal immigrants into our country? Why are we not asking the tough questions - what are the factors that are causing this unstoppable flow of human beings risking life and limb to enter our beloved nation? I mean, it's got to be pretty bad to send your family across the border in some black market operation. Let's be honest.

To answer your question - I think you are what this country needs - and open mind. You are a great liberal and American. Keep think and asking the tough questions. Vote Obama!!! I love that guy. Also - read his two books. Very good.

I agree.
You will never be able to 100% agree with all the views of any stance you take (Liberal, Conservative, etc.)

It`s the same as being a Christian, but not believing in all the doctrines of the Church.

The extreme right and left will demonize anyone they don't agree with, as many know. It's not a simple debate with people who disagree, it's a flat out name-calling event. In which liberals are all gay and terrorists and conservatives are all fascists.

You're right about there being all or nothing in politics today.

its the same on the other side as well.
Although I believe hitlary is a poser and liar so are members of the opposing party but pride will not allow the majority to say so

In the past Americans were able to meet in the middle but these days political parties have citizens so angry at each other that we make no effort to come together.

I'm sorry, but you are either very naive or love struck with Hillary to have some of the views you have and support or "love" Hillary too. but you sound like a great guy, I could hang with ya.

I commend you on the fact that you are able to take views from both sides of the table, however, Hillary has ruined her own chances of becoming President long time ago.

If you have conservative views on those things I find it hard to believe that you are truly a liberal. As far as Hillary she has NO conservative views on any of those things you mentioned.
