4 months is what the doctors around here recommend, but when they start eating, they only eat maybe half a tablespoon of very watery food. Her tummy is much smaller than you think. She is probably full. If she still wont drink milk in a couple hours though, I would recommend calling the doctor.

I started my baby on rice cereal at 4 months. I have never experienced this reaction with my baby, but I'm sure it's happened. I usually mixed the rice cereal with my breastmilk at first. There are usually instructions on the side for making it for the first feeding. The rice cereal for the first time should be really runny.
I hope this doesn't affect your feedings that he refuses milk too..
Keep in mind that your baby will eat when he's hungry, and will tell you that he is hungry.
The reflex to keep all solids from entering the mouth should be gone by now. hope I helped.

It's because she is too young.
Babies have something called the Thrust reflex. It's what helps them nurse. As long as she still has the reflex she can't eat solids. She will just push them out with her tongue because she's physically unable to eat it.
Stop feeding her solids. Try again in two months.
In fact, she doesn't need solids at this point. Milk is enough. The American Academy of Pediatrics revised their statement--a baby shouldn't be on solids AT ALL before six months. Anyone who says earlier has outdated information.
If she's refusing milk, she might have a sore throat, upset tummy, or be sick. Stop the solids for now and take her to the doctor if she continues to refuse milk.

If a baby immediately pushes food out then her tongue thrust reflex hasn't gone away yet. This is a reflex that sweeps all non liquids away from the air pipe to keep baby safe as a newborn. It goes away at different times and until baby doesn't spit it out immediately like that she is not ready. Try to watch for her to be watching you when you eat maybe even mimicking your chewing motions that is when she will be ready for sure. The experience may have scared her enough to put her off all things in her mouth even milk. Don't worry she will go back to the milk soon she will not starve herself.

Early talkers! I mean, I've known lots of babies, and I only remember one that really didn't talk until she was over 1 year old. But she hardly ever had any time with her parents anyway... My daughter's 1st word was when she was a bit over 8 months old. Before that, she was NEVER a talker. She would hardly even babble. But now her vocabulary has just exploded, and she can say around 20 words now (she turned 1 on December 30). She did say "mamama" and "dadada" as babbling before that, but never said it by repeating me or for any specific reason other than babble... so I didn't really count it... haha Yeah, every baby is different. I definitely never talked to my daughter in "baby talk"... that always just annoys me.

if she is eating more than 4x6oz bottles of milk throughout the day most pedis will suggest adding a little cereal (1tsp per 4oz) to the bottle, but if she is refusing it sounds like she is not ready. ask her dr. cereal to early (before the baby is ready) can promote allergies
good luck

It could be that you started her out with too thick a mix, or too harsh a grain. Try rice cereal (easier to digest) and go slowly. Don't expect her to eat a full serving right away. She's never had solid food before, so she will take a little time to become accustomed.

my daughter did the same thing, my doctor told me to just wait a bit longer to start her on baby cereal.. so I waited 2 weeks and tried her again she didn't seem to like it much (still doesn't and she is 2 years old) but she ate it anyways!
So I suggest to just give your baby some time and try again :)

6 months. They need the nutrition in breastmilk, and if not, formula, until then. Why rush it. Plus it upsets her tummy - is that worth it.
When you say milk - Im hoping you mean breastmilk or formula and not cows milk also. She cant digest that either.
