When I took driver's ed, they played a movie like you were driving a car in the movie and could actually steer the car in the movie...one day the instructor was out for a while and we played bumper cars and hit the pedestrians. This was way before modern video games.....we were rolling on the floor.
Had a girl that got flustered and covered her eyes when aproaching a set of cones...we had to leave the car so she could continue.
Don't be too nervous---things like that can happen---just think through your actions for a while and they will become second nature soon enough.
Taught my sister how to drive stick shift when she bought a Chevette without even knowing how to drive it because it got better gas mileage than an automatic. She kept stalling the car starting from a stop and would break down in tears at times in the middle of an intersection and couldn't get going.
Finally got the hang of it ---took her to an empty parking lot and kept making her do it. Nothing beats repetition.
