Scam! Don't do it! You shouldn't have to pay money.
Maybe you have to pay money for headshots...

I was "accepted" into Barbizon as well. I don't think it was worth the money. We had walking classes, makeup classes, etc etc, but never got anywhere near a real agency or a real modeling job. There slogan is: Look like a model or just act like one. So, they are in the business to do that - not to make models.
If your daughter wants to be a model, take her to a REAL agency for critiques. Not Barbizon.

No - it is a scam. Most professional models never paid a cent to start their careers (ok, maybe something for a few photos for a portfolio but even those can be paid for by a REAL modeling agency or even done by a skilled amateur). Spend your money on some nice photos (head shots, full shots) and send them, along with her size, weight, height, etc, stats off to all the REPUTABLE modeling agencies (like Elite, Ford, Wilhemenia). If your daughter has what it takes, then that is the best route to take.

My sister used to model locally and in New York. She said, "No. You shouldn't have to pay to have someone teach you how to model. You either have it or you don't. Go to a modeling agency, get pictures from a reputable photographer-the only money you may have to spend." Hope that helps.

any agency YOU have to pay, isnt good at all. Real agencies make money when you make money-when they help you get jobs the companies pay the agency and the agency gives the model their percentage.
