Wish is to hope, but to do nothing to change the circumstances.
It is better to do, then to wish.

Trick question. The answer is both yes and no.
Wishing, like hoping or praying, doesn't do much good without faith and effort. If you make no effort for peace than why bother believing it can be attained? If you have no faith in something that can bring about peace than why bother believing it can ever exist?
When you try for peace, even in the most simplistic way, you can see how difficult it is to come by.
A personal belief of mine is that there can be "no light without darkness." But even in darkness the only way to live is to find a light. No matter how dim or weak it is, if it's enough for your eyes to adjust to see than it's enough to move on.
Is it a waste of time to wish for world peace? Yes, in that it'll probably never happen. No, in that hope is what keeps us moving and peace is always worth asking for.

No, absolutely not. If we don't even attempt it, we can never hope to achieve it. However, there are different approaches to achieving peace.
My personal philosophy is to achieve peace with myself and in my interactions with others around me, then it projects out into the outer world. When sufficiently large groups of individuals take a similar approach, the collective results of those actions will tip the scale toward peace at a global level.

Yes. Wishing accomplishes nothing. Only action does. The best hope for world peace is to obliterate ignorance. A daunting task within it's self.
Just my opinion.

Yes if you are not working activity to make that happen. It's a total waste of time just wishing it would happen.

it is never a waste of time if it is your time that you use to not waste. in simpler terms, it is our choice to waste the time we are given, and else wheres if you do not belive it to be a waste of time, then it is not. world peace in my book is not a waste of time. absolutely not.
