I got a TB Test earlier today around 11:30 ish this morning for volunteering at the hospital....

I didn't watch the nurse inject the stuff in my arm.. cause i am a phobic of needles...

but.. i remember last time there was a some blood and i had what looked like a fluid filled pocket under my skin the 1st time i had it done last year...

Well this year there was very little blood and it started to bruise almost 10 minutes after it... and this afternoon/ evening and saw that it was the size of a nickle and was very slightly raised.. but its only was a few hours that i got the injection....

should i be worried or just relax and wait it out..

I know you are not suposed to put anything on it or touch it and cause it will mess up the results...

but i dont know.. just kinda want to know if i should spazz or what.

i am going back thursday to get it looked at.. cause it would have been 48 hours i think >.>;;;;

but yea

thanks to anyone who replys..

try to relax a raised red area doesn't mean you have TB it may mean that you have been in contact with someone that does have it. If it is a positive the hospital will ask you to have a chest x-ray to rule out any active TB. TB is treatable if you do have it. Just wait out the testing time before you get upset. Bruising is common as the needle may have pricked a capillary and bleed under the skin causing the bruise.

This is a test, and the results are what they are. There is nothing you can do about it. except wait for results.

One more thing, the skin test you had, only tells if your body has ever reacted to TB before, it does not tell if you have it.
X-rays and other tests are needed for this.

I had this skin test 40 years ago and was positive for anti-bodies, I don't have TB, never have, Probably never will unless I have close physical contact with an active carrier.
So don't worry about the results.

relax, it is not uncommon for bruising to occur, nor is it uncommon to have a little redness or swelling....just wait it out.
