in the beginning it incredibly is an American conflict. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, and so on.. are all individuals. Yeah, meaning you and the folk you disagree with besides. i'm no longer awareness your good judgment that even although the Democrats voted for it, it fairly is now a Republican challenge. confrontation on whilst and the thank you to end a conflict would not absolve all of us of the duty of beginning it. All you're doing is what you're accusing the Reps of doing and that's shifting blame. Do you think for one 2nd that if this conflict had ended rapidly and decisively that the Dems does no longer have taken credit? the two events are to blame besides because of the fact the yank people who subsidized this conflict as a majority on an analogous time as nevertheless amped up from 9/11. I agree that we choose a metamorphosis of course (and mandatory it for a on an analogous time as), and don't comprehend this governments refusal to objective a various attitude. even although, i will't lay blame soley on one occasion or the different.

My how shallow, straw man arguments are so easy to burn down
1. Democrats who supported the war have continually had to remind you that the "Intelligence" they had access to was not the same as what Bushco had accessed. Bushco used unvetted material to support the run up to war, basically Rummy & Cheney set up theier own intelligence groups and took info that was uncomfirmed, had later proven to come from unreliable source and used it to support the desired goal of invading Iraq and setting up a broad long term presence in the middle east.
2. The Democrats voted for continued funding because they do not have full control of congress and therefore still lack real power to effect change without causing catostrophic results that would make Government seize. While I realize cons hate reality this is the most logical course of action while building a consensus since as time goes by the American people who already are disaffected with the war will finally support any action to end this atrocity we've allowed to happen.

Keep having your little fantasies about republican control, the American people are smarter than Rove gives them credit for and as the vote went in November 2006, so 2008 will be.

We don't support the war. And even though our bill still funds the war, there's now a budget in place. Something that was completely unheard of during the days of the Republican Congress.

And yes. At first, some supported the war. But we were greatly lied to, as we all see now. Yet, even through lies, Conservatives still call us hypocrites and two-faced.

And they're supposedly the ones with "morals". My ***.

The problem is that the Democrats all voted to send them over there and now that they are there they want to cut the funding and not give them what they need to be able to fight the war. Thanks Richard for posting that link to let everyone know who is giving the old screw job to the troops after the same people had agreed to send them there in the first place. Below is a nice little link you should enjoy.

Because once we're in, it's hard to leave, even by defunding the troops. The right way to get out of this mess was never to get in it. I don't blame the Democrats - they aren't the commander-in-chief. I don't think we can just pull out either, but if we hadn't gone in in the first place we wouldn't have things so complicated.

They're caught between a rock and a hard place. They voted to fund the war because they don't want to stop supporting our men and women who are there. That doesn't mean they want them there.

In addition, it's pretty well known now that they first funded the war because they were given faulty information. And it's pretty evident that people in key administration positions knew they were manipulating Congress with faulty information.

Now what are they supposed to do?
They're damned if they do and damned if they don't.

Consistency makes no sense once you find out things are not what you thought they were.

Supplying the troops and morally defending the war are FAR from the same thing, and now that the money is in place the job of ending the debacle remains in the white house, where it began, and if Bush doesn't end it the next President shall, and it will always be the War that Bush couldn't win, regardless of time and MONEY...( shouldn't someone tell the Decider )

It's all a calculated opportunity to get elected or reelected.
