Hate to sound like a nerd, but since this is philosophy--you are alive because you're not dead. & I think that's about it without getting all esoteric. As to the second--you could open the floodgate on that one. So many reasons why people "feel" alive! I don't even want to start, because I know I wouldn't know how to end. Just a huge stew of recognizable & pleasent things, some I know won't be tasty, & some I don't recognize. But I'll try them all.

Modern medicine, my family's love and support, humour, hope, and faith mixed in with a little strong will =).

I feel alive because I AM, but also because I feel lucky to have all of the above..

Sorry, not a very profound or philosophical answer...Just a little factual realism this time =).

I am alive because of my parents.They took the time to teach me the things that mean survivor in this evil world. Simple things like cooking,cleanliness,Godliness. My parents taught me what God feels about good and evil,right and wrong. I am here now because my parents took the time to tell me to fear God. They told me to ask myself a simple question...what would God think?. That has given me the ability to grow in my life.I feel alive because for once in my life I have decided to follow my parent example and see spiritual things the way they do. see all my life I been dodging God, I been taking the low road,the wide road,the road of fun and doing things my own way, now that I am older, my body dont function like it did no more. I know I am perishable now.I know I wont be around forever. Funny how things seem to creep up on you. I thank God that my parents took it upon themselves to instill in me the ability to ask a simple question...what would God think?

Because I had two loving parents , grands, who loved me and taught me how to live. Took me to church and living the way I should. I feel blessed for them all. I am alive to have given life to 2 sons and seeing them grow into adult hood and having children of their own.

I am alive because-
My genetic, and conscious equation became an emerged possibility, in the vast continuum of time and space.
My equation exists, because my parents beeped each other.
They beeped each other because of the laws of attraction.
The laws of attraction exists because of the properties of matter.

I feel alive because-
Alive in my sense of the world means to exist with prior notions, and comprehensions of existence.

I feel alive because I have witnessed the past.
I feel alive because the past exists.
The past exists because-
Velocity exists.
Therefore because of implications of past velocity I feel like I am alive.
Velocity exists because unstable matter exists.
Unstable matter exists- No clue why.
I guess that's where it becomes Gods purpose.
Or matters purpose.

I am Alive because of my children & my grandson, because when my Husband of 30 yrs, died a few yrs. ago & I wanted to go with him. he was my life line & my soal mate, and my family pulled me out of a very dark place I was in.

I feel Alive because after forcing myself to go back out into the world again. I joined a gym, went on a few vacations, took a few computer classes. In the last comuter class, one of my teachers asked me out and I took a leap of faith and went out with him. now we are seeing each other on a regular basis, and I'm starting to feel happy again.
