I worked for a company for the past 6 weeks and quit because it was much too stressful and I wanted a job that was more suited for me. Do I need to tell my next employer about this job ? I don't want to because it just looks bad on my part for the job not working out for me. I didn't get into any trouble or anything. I'm planning on not saying anything about working for this company because there is no way my next employer would be able to find out about it. Am I right?

No need to tell your new employer!

You don't have to tell them if you don't want to... although they might be curious why you listed no jobs or references for the 6 weeks frior to joining them. Most places won't care as long as you didn't get fired on BAD terms. But, then again, if you appear to be shady or weird about any questions related to those 6 weeks, they can certainly do a background check. For like, $29.99 anyone can get an unlimited 1 year membership to look up people's backgrounds. It's a small fee, aspecially if it's a company. I'd suggest you be honest. Maybe instead of concentrating on the stressful issues, say that it was not a positive work place or that it was not a place where you felt you'd excell with your potential or skills. Good Luck!!!

Say something about it. It will show up on anything run due to you collecting pay checks during that period.

You are not in the wrong for quitting after that time - you have a 90-day trial period on any job. That 90 days isn't just for the employer to find out if you work out or not, but also for you to see if you like the job or not.

Be up front. Tell them that you gave the job a fair shake, but found it just wasn't for you. You were within that 90 day "trial period", so it isn't a big deal really. But hiding it makes it look like there was something to hide. I would be up front if I were you.

Please include the job into your history, but don't include your supervisor as a reference. If you are asked for a reason for leaving. Simply say that after 6weeks you had determined that this company was not a place were you wanted to invest time into. Blah Blah... My creativity was not supported, etc... I looks much worse to have a hole in your work history than to have a job hat didn't work out.

I had a cpl jobs like that and I didnt tell my employer about it and its ok. Now if there is a big gap in between your dates of employment you might want to have an explanation.

There is no need to list the job, in fact it usually hurts you to have it on your application. Gloss over it.
