I meet my current girlfreind last week at the highschool dance... I'm really scared because she might be with child now. I'm a junior in highschool and have a really good job working construction. I think i might have to leave school and make a lot of money for her and the baby. her parents really like me and said that they want me to leave school and work for my new family. I figuere i can make about $12,000 a year and buy a house in a few years. what should i do? I have about 300 dollars saved up for an emergency. that could by a pretty good ring and a depsit on a apartment. I'm so lost right know. has anyone been in my shoe? Should I ask her to marry me at the next party we go to? what is a good way to ask her?

All the adults are thinking that this is the most ridiculous **** they've ever heard. You are making a huge mistake by thinking of marrying her. You need to continue your education or learn a trade that will get you more than 12,000 a year. That seems like a lot now, but when you have a family it is nothing. You won't even be able to buy yourself a beer when you're old enough to drink. If you marry her (and by the way there's no way possible that could be your baby after a week) it will be the biggest mistake of your life.

I'm sure you are very smart, but just so you know, people question your intelligence because of the following phrases:

I meet my current girlfreind last week at the highschool dance
(How could she be pregnant by you after a week?)(You want to marry her after knowing her a week?)

I'm a junior in highschool and have a really good job working construction(Are you even legally able to marry at your age? Why would you want to marry at your age?)

I think i might have to leave school and make a lot of money for her and the baby.(You won't be making a lot of money if you leave school at this point)

her parents really like me and said that they want me to leave school and work for my new family.(Who cares what her parents think? theyre not concerned about you they're concerned about their daughter.)

I figuere i can make about $12,000 a year and buy a house
(At that salary, it will be hard to buy a decent house anytime soon, especially with a baby.)

I have about 300 dollars saved up for an emergency.

that could by a pretty good ring and a depsit on a apartment.
(There's no way 300 will BUY a good ring and a deposit on an apartment--no way in hell, ever)

Should I ask her to marry me at the next party we go to?
(Ask her to marry you at a party?--That's pretty childlike)

I'm not criticizing you; I'm just letting you know since you were wondering.

You are so not ready to be married and have a family so hopefully your girlfriend is not pregnant. if she is the best thing you could do is put the child up for adoption to have a chance at having a good life. Leaving school, not having an education is not the answer toward a viable family life. Education is so important and you are years away from that. $300 for an emergency? What emergency does that pay for? $12,000 a year job? What does that buy in this day? Nothing on both counts. Spend time with her family and yours if she is pregnant to decide the best way to move forward but your ideas are those of a child not a man ready to accept an adult role in life.

Don't be stupid, don't get married. you are not even done with your education and you want to throw your life away? who is the father of this baby? I noticed you said her baby?
I'm sure her parent are happy that she found an idiot to take care of her and you will be one if you do. $300 dollars for an emergency? what kind of emergency? that is nothing, where do you live in a cartoon box?..there is absolutely no way you can buy a house, support yourself much less a wife and kid with 12K a year!

I just can't believe how naive you are and if you want to do the right thing then Run and don't look back!

If you decide to go on with your plan, don't come back here saying that we were right! now I know the end is near...

You know, there are a lot of factors you need to put into perspective before you make a decision. You should sit down and talk with someone that is closer to the situation and also is aware of your and her maturity. My brother and his wife married very young because of a surprise pregnancy in their senior years. They are still married twelve years later and have two more beautiful children. They are definite roll models for how to stick together and work through issues that arise like yours. Please dont jump into it with talking to someone close to both of you that is not biased (on her side or yours). Children are wonderful and this should be seen as a blessing instead of an accident. Just work hard and raise a smart and beautiful child, together or not, I wish you the best of luck!

Just because she may be pregnant is not a good reason for marriage, consider paying child support and being part of the child's life and finishing your education. All parties will be better off if you focus on education and career. It will very difficult to support a family of 3 on $12,000 a year. And financial problems is the number one cause for divorce.
Hope you have learn from this expericene, both parties having sex are responsible for birth control and the lack of it.
It is your life and your choice.

First find out if she really is pregnant and if the baby is yours. If so they you do have a problem because you are going to be a father and that is a big responsibility. You need to go and talk all of this out with a parent or some adult you trust. You need some help with this situation. Good Luck

I suggest you talk to an adult that you really trust: your mom, dad, clergyman at church, who ever you really trust. Make sure that your girlfriend really is pregnant. One advice I can give you is to not to leave school. Ask your parents and the parents of the girl for help. Finish your schooling because that will help you the most! If she is pregnant and the baby is yours or you accept it as yours, and you really want to marry her, then do so. Again, ask your parents and her parents for help. Don't act without first talking to your parents and her parents.

I hope this really helps.

You met your current girlfriend last week at a dance... and now she thinks she's pregnant? You're off the hook, bucko, it's not yours. There is no way she could know shes pregnant after ONE WEEK. Even if she DID get pregnant, she wouldn't have any idea for another week or two.

BTW, after a week, you're calling her family your "new family"? Dump her ASAP, before her freaky family ruins your life.

girls like to pull the ole im pregnant with your kid so you wont leave them. i would wait till she has the kid and get a praternity test if she is even pego at all. if its yours then marry her. i seriously doubt she is even prego she may be just telling you that for attention. and for you to keep her and that is really messed up to do. i mean if she had sex with you as soon as she did then chances are shes done it with many other dudes too. and that baby if it exists may be another persons and shes just trying to pon it off on you.

School has to come first.
Invest in condoms.
Then get married.
