It still has a 1.66/1.83 GHz Core Duo processor and only 512 MB of RAM. Since they've been updating the Macbook and Macbook Pro, will they update their desktops?

I have heard the mac mini will drop from the apple line soon. All of the mac mini style computers end up being cut from production.

They are at the lower end of features to keep the cost low..

If you really want an affordable mac, look for a G4 on ebay or something.

I have a G5 which has already been outdated, yet it will be perfect for what I use it for after many many years..

THE Apple Desktop (a.k.a. Mac Pro) has Quad or 8-core now, so the iMac and Mac Mini cant be far behind... just realize that the Mini is meant as an affordable option, so it usually is last to be upgraded.
