If the mean weight of three cats is 24 lbs, then te total weight of the 3 cats is 72 lbs . 72-22=50 and at a 3:2 ratio that would be 30 and 20 respectively

3x + 2x + 22 = 3 x 24
5x + 22 = 72 subtract 22 from both sides
5x = 50 divide both sides by 5
x = 10
One cat is 3x or 30 pounds
One cat is 2x or 20 pounds
30 / 20 is a 3:2 ratio
(30 + 20 + 22) / 3 = 24

x=3/2y
3/2y+y+22=72
