i know you can with the Leapord OS, and i am getting that, but can you get on the internet without it?? and can you have like a Yahoo e-mail?

A browser is just a browser. All it does is display the information, so yes you will still be able to.

I don't think that the operating system has anything to do with surfing the internet and viewing a search engine like yahoo.
